Easton EQ40 2011 Hockey Stick Review

Easton EQ40 2011 Stick Review

The 2011 Easton EQ40 hockey stick offers a great advanced level of performance with an excellent balance point for an unbelievable feel. The EQ line has replaced the Easton SE stick line, building off the same performance features that SE sticks have been known for but now making some of those features visible.

The 2011 Easton EQ stick line features the Focus Weight Technology™ to offer the ultimate feel and puck control.

Focus Weight Technology™ concentrates materials in the heel of the blade to aid in puck control by helping keep the puck on the blade and control tough passes. The weighted heel also delivers more power and velocity making your shot unstoppable. Easton has made the weight in heel visible on the new EQ sticks. The EQ40 stick features the 10 grams visible weight in the heel.

The EQ40 hockey stick features a multi-rib and micro-bladder blade for a rigid and consistent feel in the blade. The main difference between the EQ40 and the EQ50 is the hybrid kevlar wrap, and the Focus Weight Technology™

Bauer Vapor X60 LE 2011 Hockey Stick Review

Bauer Vapor X60 LE 2011 Review

The 2011 Bauer X60 LE hockey sticks offer the same great top of the line performance as the standard X60 stick with slick Limited Edition graphics. The X60 LE stick also features a smooth matte stick finish.

The X60 LE hockey stick is the only stick in the Vapor line using TeXtreme® carbon fiber. TeXtreme® is exceptionally light and offers great power. Due to the stick design and type of carbon used the X60 stick has a great light and balanced feel, without feeling blade heavy. The X:60 hockey stick is not the lightest stick on the market but certainly in the category of lightest. Bauer has also introduced the Micro Feel II shaft dimensions, offering double concave walls and rounded corners. The Micro Feel II shaft has a great feel, and according to Bauer easier puck handling and superior control.

Like all Vapors sticks, the X60 LE comes with the Micro Feel shaft gives you a nice feel using double concave walls with rounded corners. The Stick'um coating provides extra grip.

The 2011 X60 LE is tapered at the bottom towards the blade. Less stick at this point gives you the ability to snap your shop for a quicker release. Strength is made up in the blade with the Pure Shot profile, which is a thicker blade at the heel of the stick. The foam that makes up the inner blade construction called 'Aero Foam' helps you absorb the puck when receiving passes so the puck isn't bouncing around all over the place.

The 2011 Bauer X60 LE uses the Intelli-Sense Shot Technology wich adjusts the flex points in the stick depending on your hand placements on the stick.

Warrior Bandito 2011 Hockey stick Review

Warrior Bandito 2011 Review

The Warier Bandito is a great mid-priced stick with many of the features and performance of higher end stick without the price tag. Although slightly heavier than the Warrior Dolomite, the shaft edges on the Bandito are more rounded than the Warrior Vandal for a more comfortable feel. The clean, black and white graphics offer a nice alternative if you're not a big fan of the out-of-control graphics on most Warrior hockey sticks.

2011 Warrior Bandito Features
  • Precision taper focuses energy at lower quarter for easy load and release
  • Carbon Deluxe internal construction
  • 21% recoil increase for maximum velocity
  • Soft-core blade construction resists torque but allows for improved feel
  • Nipple Grip coating
  • 500 grams

NIPPLE GRIP

Newly improved nipples for 2011 are 12% firmer than the 2010 model to improve tactile grip and create a supple hand transition. Less hand slip provides more direct energy transfer into the stick for increased shot velocity.

PRECISION TAPER

A longer, lower tapered section focuses energy into the bottom portion of the stick. This concentration of flex makes the stick easier to load and release giving you a more powerful shot with less effort.

The 2011 Warrior Bandito is available in the following blade patterns:

Bauer Supreme ONE100 Hockey Stick Review

Bauer Supreme ONE100 Review

The Bauer Supreme ONE100 hockey stick is a great stick for less money than the TotalOne. Most rec hockey players, won't notice the difference and are better off saving their money.

The shaft is the same as the Bauer TotalOne Supreme with a double-concave wall with squared off corners. (Take a look at the Vapor series if you prefer more rounded off corners.) In the mid portion of the Supreme One100 stick you'll notice a series of bumps on the corners designed to fit how your hand wraps around the stick that Bauer calls 'Tac-Spiral'. This textured portion of the shaft gives you a better grip for your lower hand and more control over the stick. Very comfortable.

The One100 has a mid kick-point which will give you more power for your slap shot than a low kick-point stick. It's built as a single piece using mono-comp design for a very balanced, responsive feel for the puck.

The One100 blade is built with the Aero Foam II core for a nice soft feel for stick handling as well stability for a quick shot.
